Climate Cycles
The image could depict a literal cycle of the climate. In the second circle, there is a wave that could be interpreted as water (oceans). The second image could show a heating phase, where the glaciers melt and the oceans flood over land. After that, the "water" seems to shrink, and then expand in the fifth circle as if in a frozen state. Water will be at it's most dense state before freezing and expanding[1].
Note this cycle could put us, in the modern day, in a cycle of heating, matching the scientific observations of Global Warming.
